Class Music

Music lessons involve singing, aural training, simple work with percussion instruments, and listening to a wide range of styles and types of music. Small theory groups preparing for Associated Board exams may be taken out of this class time. Boys in the Lower First, First and Second years receive two lessons of class music per week, all others receive one lesson per week. Workshops are arranged to give an opportunity for those above a certain standard to perform to an invited professional musician who will offer comments and advice. Boys may be entered for The Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music practical exams each term at their teacher's request. The exams take place at school. Boys learning outside school may take examinations here as well.
