Joining at 8+
The First Year is regarded as a period of settling in and adjusting to life in a large, fast moving prep school. The timetable is 'homebased' allowing the boys to spend most of their time in their own form room, ensuring a sense of routine and stability.
Entry
Boys may be registered for Colet Court from their fourth birthday. For entry at 8+, a boy's eighth birthday must fall on or before 31 August in his year of entry. There are about thirty-eight places available at 8+.
For more information about entry at 8+, and
a tour of the School, please contact the School Secretary, Mrs Libby

Selection procedure
Candidates are invited to Colet Court to sit tests in English, Mathematics and Reasoning. The Reasoning test results are weighted according to age. Unfortunately we are not able to send out past papers. An age appropriate suggested reading list and a maths syllabus are available. Boys who perform well in the written tests are invited back for a short interview and group assessment tasks. At the same time, parents also have the opportunity to meet with the Headmaster. The interviews take place during the two weeks following the tests, enabling boys to know their results within a fortnight.
