King's Cayley maths winners
Will Saunter, Emilio Sison, Benjamin Liow and Jason Kim represented Colet Court in the inaugural King’s Cayley Maths Challenge, held at King’s College School. Out of an original entry of 56 schools, of which 17 reached the final stage, Colet Court came out victorious. In the main part of the competition they answered all 26 questions correctly, finishing 15 minutes ahead of their rivals. The competition had to go to a deciding question, as King’s also scored 26 points.
Deciding question
What is 6 to the power of 2009 divided by 6 to the power of 2007. A silence went round the hall as all the competitors tried to get their head round the problem. Fortunately, Emilio was on to it in a flash and answered correctly. Well done to the four boys for winning the competition.
